Upgradation of 1396 Government ITIs through Public Private Partnership

This project was launched by the Government of India in 2006 for the upgradation of Government ITIs.
Under this project, adoption of each ITI by an industry partner is mandatory, with an
Institute Management Committee (IMC) chaired by the industry partner. An interest-free loan of ₹2.5 crore
per ITI for upgradation is released directly to the IMC-Society account, to be utilized over five years.
The loan is to be repaid in 30 years after a moratorium of 10 years. Up to 20% of the loan
amount is kept as seed money in long-term banking or financial instruments for sustainability
    and loan repayment.
